Neighbour app to build community in high rise living
We created a community app to connect neighbours living in apartment buildings. With secure on boarding, intuitive mobile experience and a gamified features, it increased resident engagement and satisfaction by 2x.
The client was a large condo developer with several luxury urban high-rise projects that were launched in 2021. In a post-pandemic environment, tenant engagement became a frontline issue for urban multifamily operators with many residents experiencing isolation and anxiety. Despite the proximity and density of urban high-rise living, it can be very hard to connect with next door neighbours and build a real sense of community.
Approach & Solution
By speaking with hundreds of tenants and analyzing demographics of the target resident community, we built the core set of features designed to boost engagement while protecting neighbour safety.
With a white-labeled mobile experience, the neighbour app included secure on boarding, real-time surveys, interest-based groups and even a resident-led marketplace. We also created powerful building concierge features such as announcements, visitor and parcel notifications.
The neighbour app was extremely well-received by the resident community and management. It directly led to a two-fold increase in both resident satisfaction engagement. The app organically grew to include 2,500+ residents across several multifamily buildings in the neighbourhood.
